How to Monetize Your Talent Online

Talented and ready to jump out of the starving artist syndrome? Let’s get you making some extra cash with your talents online.  Monetizing your talents online is a great way to turn your passion into profit. That’s what I did.

My online journey in short


Professional International violinist that found my way teaching online from a request made by my students in the States for online lessons while I was touring abroad.

Within that journey, I have created this thriving YouTube channel written over 30 educational digital exercise books for violin and created multiple online courses and academies for adult violinists newbie to Pro.

If I can do it, you can too.


Technophobe to techie


I was a complete technophobe before I started online. Truth!

I barely had a Facebook account and an email address. I absolutely dreaded working with computers. Now no one today would believe that’s the case because now I love working online listening to some soft jazz and knowing that I’m making an impact in this world today.


Passion to profits


It doesn’t matter if you’re a musician or an artist or you love to cook. Your passion, whatever it is, can be turned into a product that you can sell online. Now it’s not just, okay I’m gonna sell something online to make money. You’re using your passion and your drive to help others to share something that you are so passionate about that you know it will help others in their Journey as well whether it’s an educational product or something that will be hung on the wall that’s going to give them joy every time they look at it.


Use social to your advantage


We live in a day and age that social media can be a blessing or it could be a curse and as talented individuals monetizing ourselves online social media is absolutely amazing. I have connected with so many violinists all over the world because of my YouTube channel or because of Facebook. If I hadn’t been working online I would never meet these amazing people and teach them violin or help them with their online Biz or both!


Simple ways to get you started making money online


  1. Sell your products or services on an online Marketplace like Etsy or just use Payhip. Payhip has a free plan where you get a link and you can sell on social anywhere. Wherever you’re having a conversation, whether it’s in direct messaging, you can just pop that link in and say hey this would really help you out and boom you have your first sale. So that’s a very very easy way to get started.
  2. I would highly suggest creating a website that showcases your talent. Think of it as kind of like your online Gallery, whether it’s performance videos, videos of you working with your passion and creating your passion so people can see the joy that you have when you are doing what you love.
  3. Sell your digital products, your ebooks, even online courses on your website.
  4. It’s very simple to join affiliate programs where you can link the products that you use. For example for me I have a page where I have my products I use, as far as like rosin, violin case, strings, these different things or a journal even that you can link to and then somebody will purchase that you can get a small commission.
  5. Offer consulting services online. This can be easily done by Zoom.us. I’ve been using Zoom since 2011, teaching online.

Get organized with a checklist

I have an amazing wonderful, very simple one sheet called, “Get Monetized Online Checklist” that you can print up. This checklist is a great resource for you to follow and check off when you implement helping you make some fun cash from your passions online.

What is so beautiful about making money online is you are supporting yourself as an artist, as a musician which gives you more time to do what you love, which is probably working on your craft.

Super Easy Affordable & Fast Video Filming Set Up for non Techies

Recently, I was asked how do you make your YouTube videos? So I wanted to go ahead and give you the rundown of what I use for my YouTube videos. In this post discover Super Easy Affordable & Fast Video Filming Set Up for non Techies. I’ve been making Youtube videos for 11 years and I will share with you a bit of my filming journey.

My Youtube journey


In 2010, my Youtube channel was mainly the home for my violin performance videos. Then as I started to perform overseas my in-person students wanted me to teach them while I was away. That was the first step to teaching online and I started teaching violin and piano online in 2011. My videos naturally turned into more violin tutorials for my students and clients that I worked with.


My move to Macbook


When I first started filming video, I used a specific video camera and a specific editing software, it was getting a little clunky especially when I moved to Apple. I used my iPhone and that connected a lot better with my MacBook on the simplicity of making and editing YouTube videos.


No video camera needed


First thing, grab your smartphone. You really don’t need a video camera. The video cameras on the new smartphones are really high quality. I keep my iPhone up to date so I’m always having better quality videos from my iPhone.


Good quality microphone


Number two is a microphone. Audio quality can make or break a video. It’s really important that you are heard well in your videos.

Currently, I use a Tula microphone. Click here to read my post “The Best Microphone for Online Teaching.”.  It’s a fabulous microphone that I use not only for my YouTube videos but also for my online teaching and coaching calls.

The Tula microphone can also be used as a recorder. If you’re a musician and you want to record yourself, this microphone is fabulous plus it’s portable.

I love everything that I have to be portable since I do travel quite a bit and that way my office is simply portable.

The next thing you want to get is a Lavalier mic. That way that you can really hone in your voice or your instrument into the microphone and it actually helps to reduce background noises. With the Tula mic you just connect the lavalier mic to the Tula mic and then an adapter to connect with my iphone.

The Lavalier mic can also be used on its own. I would suggest getting wireless so you are movable without being connected to a wire.


Natural lighting is best


The next thing is lighting. Lighting is super, super important. I actually use natural lighting for all my videos. I prefer to use natural lighting. Every time I have tried to use a different setup for lighting, it’s just not the same.

I’ve gotten a whole full setup with a light box and was disappointed with the effect. So I schedule my videos when I know I’m going to have pretty decent natural lighting and I angle myself to the window so the natural lighting comes at me.


Lighting alternatives


Now if you’re wanting to make videos and you just don’t have that natural lighting there are a couple of options you can use. These options also work if you’re working online with clients and you want to be well-lit for them.

You can find mini ring lights that clip on your phone or on your computer to light up while you’re working. It does have an adapter and you can plug it in so you don’t have to worry about running out of batteries. You can just plug it into your USB port and charge this guy right up.

For something a little bit bigger I use a ring light set on a tripod that has a holder for the phone within the ring light itself. I mainly use this for my clients, when I work online to light up my face as I’m working with them because when I do have clients it’s night out and I don’t have that natural lighting.


Tripod for smartphone


If you choose to use natural lighting without the ring lights then you just need a normal tripod to hold your phone for filming. The tripod that I use can also be used as a selfie stick which allows me to make videos on the go.


Editing in iMovie


You’re going to need an editing software to edit these marvelous videos that you’re going to make. I’ve used different softwares in the past. Since I am for all for Simplicity, I use my iPhone, my MacBook and I stick with iMovie.

A lot of fellow YouTubers say to use Final Cut Pro as an editing software but I just personally have not moved from iMovie. It gets the job done and before I move to a different editing software I’ll probably hire a video editor.

So that means you’re going to have to have a computer to use that in video editing software so your computer of choice. If you choose to use Apple products they just work really seamlessly together and they communicate very well.

In the past, I had communication issues of uploading downloading the video into the computer but with the same system of iPhone and MacBook you can just airdrop.


Simple background


Don’t be too afraid of what your background looks like if it’s not as perfect as you want it. You can find a background anywhere that you can use right now. You can start making the videos if it’s just a blank wall that’s great as long as you have good lighting and the fact is you just don’t want your background to be cluttered. You want people to be looking at you and not looking at your background and being distracted by what is in your background. So as simple as you can make it is great.


Get filming


Don’t let the feeling of not having the perfect video editing or video filming equipment stop you from making your videos. Go out there and meet your public with the videos that you make where you are right now. It’s always going to get better from here.

How to Quickly Edit Your Youtube Videos in iMovie

Looking for a way to quickly edit your YouTube videos in iMovie? Editing videos for YouTube can be a complicated and time-consuming process but with tips and tricks, you can easily master the basics of video editing in iMovie. In this post, I’ll show you how I personally edit my YouTube videos and show you some fast and simple tips to help get you editing your videos in iMovie.

iMovie editing checklist


  1. Open iMovie
  2. Click Create a movie
  3. Drag and drop the video file you want to edit into iMovie or click the arrow in the upper left to retrieve it from your files.
  4.  Highlight the movie (You’ll know it is highlighted when you see the yellow frame around the movie)
  5. Click the magic wand on the upper left corner of the video editing tools that you find on the upper right side of iMovie.
  6. If there are any yellow areas within the movie itself, this lets you know that the audio was too oud in that area. Drag the audio down lower to not have any yellow in the movie itself.
  7. Know that if anything happens that you want to undo just click Command Z if you are on a mac.
  8. Trim the empty space at the beginning of the video before you start talking. Do this by right clicking and click trim to playhead.
  9. Add in your transitions, titles, music, B-Roll while you are editing the video. You can see how all of this si done by watching the video above.
  10. Take note of the time you refer to a lead magnet or another video so when you add the links in Youtube, you don’t have to watch the entire video yet again.
  11. When finished editing, watch the video from beginning to end for a final check
  12. Save this file for Facebook video if you are posting to Facebook
  13. Find 20 seconds from the end of the video, right click and split clip.
  14. Add your endcard (watch the video above to learn how to do this.)
  15. Add the last 20 seconds of your video on top of the endcard.
  16. Don’t forget to mark 0 for the dissolve.
  17. Save file and upload to Youtube.
  18. Create a Short from your video that you can use for Insta and Pinterest.

How to Create Youtube Videos to Magnetically Attract Clients

Youtube library to content creation hub


I have used YouTube as my Hub; however, this wasn’t my intent at the beginning of my Youtube journey. I was just using YouTube as a library for my performance videos as a violinist and then it just naturally evolved into teaching videos for my students.


Online biz hamster wheel


I really listened to a lot of gurus because I felt they knew a lot more than I did about how to create an online Biz being a career professional violinist with no techie skills; however, I have found after years of listening and doing what they said that I was just living in some sort of hamster wheel doing things that I didn’t see a lot of results.


Getting off the hamster wheel


As a Capricorn, a rebel, and a violinist I have this attention to detail such that when I do something it’s got to be laser-focused and it’s got to have results and return on my time invested. I use the analogy of dark chocolate or espresso for how I work with violinists, how I live my life and how I have successfully monetized myself online.


Return on time invested


I remember a few years back as I was attending a live Workshop specifically on how to use YouTube for an online biz, the coach said well you need to do this, this and this, and I said,

“You know what? My goal is not to have thousands of subscribers, which I do, or to have millions of views, which I do, my goal is to use my YouTube channel to make money. I’m not here to spin my wheels and just make YouTube videos just for the heck of it. I need to see a return on my time invested.”

The coach was silent for a little bit and then honestly after that, she completely revamped how she was presenting her strategy. Why video?


Let’s first start off with why video? Video is such a great way for people to get to know you, your character, feel your energy and understand if they want to work with you.

Every teacher is not for every student and every student is not for every teacher.

This goes along with clients. Every client is not for every coach and vice versa. So video is a great way for your future clients to know and understand if they’ll work with you.


You are the vibration you attract


If they can’t get through your video, they find you annoying, they’re not going to want to work with you. If they find that they’re not getting results on what you’re presenting in the videos, not going to want to work with you, on the other hand,

if they love your energy,

they can’t stop watching your videos,

they just love your Vibes,

they totally resonate with you,

there’s something inside of them that’s inside of you,

and they find answers with what you have to say, then voila!

Angels Sing and they’ll want to work with you.

It’s as easy as that and this is why video is so great because you can write all the blog posts, you can write all the social media posts, you can create a profile on LinkedIn, but they don’t know you!

They don’t know your character, they don’t know your voice, they don’t know your vibration, they don’t feel your energy. This is why video is phenomenal and you can use this to attract your clients.


It‘s not about the subscribers and it’s not about the views


I’m going to walk you through step by step how to create a video that you’ll post on YouTube that’s going to be your client magnet.

It’s not about the subscribers, it’s not about how many views you get. If you get a hundred views and one of those views purchases a digital download or works with you or subscribes to your list, that is a huge win! Huge! Just one person watching One video that follows through on your call to action is a huge win.


Video filming tips


So when creating the video, be sure to have a very simple background, good lighting.

It doesn’t have to be complicated. I use my iPhone so don’t let the complications of tech stop you from filming that video.


Using a video script template


Next, you need to be organized in your presentation. I have a video script template that you can totally download for free to help you out if you need some help in organizing the presentation of the information in your video. Get the video script template here.


You had me at hello


In order to Create Youtube Videos to Magnetically Attract Clients, you need a catchy title. People aren’t going to click on your video if the title isn’t working for them.

So how to formulate a catchy title?

Make sure it is in relation to the information that you’re giving in your video, has a pain point that your future client is going to relate to and a solution use powerful words. You can check it in Tubebuddy Keyword Explorer to see how it’s going to rate with your channel and how it’s going to rate on YouTube plus you’ll find out if it’s a searchable title and if people are actually searching for what you’re presenting in your video.

Be authentic


Present yourself as naturally as possible. Be completely authentic, with beautiful energy. It doesn’t hurt to present yourself in the best way possible. If you’re feeling tired and sluggish, not a good time to make a video. Think about when you feel your best so that you can present yourself at your best in the video.


Video batching to save time


Batch your videos. Make a list of different videos that you can make at one time to save your time. I know if you’re like me you like to save time and energy so make a list of maybe three video ideas.

Take the time to script out the videos beforehand so that you can do them one right after the other especially if you don’t have a specific place where you make your videos or if you’re surrounded by family or living with other people and it’s a little difficult to make videos surrounded by other people and finding that quiet spot.

Once you have everything set up, and done your hair, you feel like you’re able to present yourself, optimize that time and batch your videos.


Include only ONE call to action


Within your video ideally have one call to action. These days people are super busy. They have maybe 25 different things going on in their head at once and to present many different things in one video can be just like overwhelm on making a decision. We all have to make decisions multiple times a day and having to make a decision on what link to click on can be somewhat overwhelming.

So restrain yourself to only one call to action.


Superpowered call to action


What would that call to action be for you to have a client? It could be liking the video, it could be commenting below to create a relationship with this person, signing up for your newsletter where you share specific offers only for those peeps, a digital download free pdf that you want to present to help with a solution that’s in your funnel.

Not just to give a free pdf away.

Everybody probably has at this point in the online World downloaded a free pdf from somewhere and it never generated into anything. So do make sure that the PDF that you are presenting or this gift I like to think of it as a gift that you are giving your followers, leads into more of a solution on their path. This is not to just give something away for free but have it be on a path or on a journey that’s going to help them if they choose to take that Journey with you.


Sprinkle the link everywhere


Then once you’ve decided on that call to action you need to give people the link. Put the link in the cards that show up in the right-hand corner of the video. Put that link in the end screen which is the final screen on the video which you’ll see at the end of this video. Put the link in the description below the video. You could even put the link in the comments below the video and say hey here’s the link for this so people don’t miss it again.

Keep in mind people are so busy that if it’s not staring them in the eyeball they’re probably not going to click on it.


Eye catching thumbnail


The thumbnail is also very important. As soon as you finish making the video take a quick selfie, download it to your computer and use that on your thumbnail.

Your face is your brand. Your face is unique to you. Your energy is unique to you. Your smile is unique to you.

So when people see that on the thumbnail they can immediately resonate with it and click on your video.

Use your image and catchy words that connect with the information in the video and with your title people need to see the video.


Keyed up keywords


So in the tags below the video, use the keywords people would search on to find this video. Put your title word for word in the tag section found in the details below the video on the backend. This is another place Tubebuddy comes in handy. Tubebuddy will show you how your keywords rate and let you know if there are other key words that would be beneficial to use as well.

Plus put your client magnet video in a playlist with a catchy title.


Playlist power


I just revamped a playlist on my YouTube channel to help adult violinists jump out of the beginner stages to learn third position and it’s called “Beginner No More, Learn Third Position.” Pretty short, to the point, catchy words and it solves a pain point of violinists who feel like they just have never gotten out of that beginner stage.

Put your video in a playlist and then put that playlist on the front of your YouTube channel so people can find it.


Repurpose your video


You can repurpose the same video, create the subtitles put it on your blog posts, create Instagram reels to direct people to that full-length video, create some Facebook lives to direct people to your YouTube video and that’s it!

You now have this amazing video that you’ve uploaded to YouTube to attract clients whether it is right now or years down the road.

Somebody may watch that video and find out hey they want to work with you they love your energy, they love you, they love what you have to offer and they can’t get enough of you.


May not happen immediately…


What’s so great about YouTube is once you make that video, it’s LIVE. I have popular YouTube videos on my channel from 10 years ago that are still working for me today that are still bringing me, clients.

So don’t get discouraged if nothing happens right away. You publish a video and it’s like one day, two days, and only 100 views and you don’t know what’s going on, don’t freak out.

Create another video.  Stay consistent!

As long as you follow these steps that I’ve given you in this video, someday, somewhere, somebody’s going to really enjoy what you have to offer.

Why I Use Youtube as My Content Creation Hub

As I’ve been on YouTube since 2010 and teaching online since 2012, I’ve discovered that YouTube has brought in most of my clients out of all the social media platforms. In this post, discover why I use YouTube as a content creation hub.

Over the 10 years that I’ve been working online, YouTube has been my biggest lead generator for clients that I work with personally and also for clients that join my online programs and/or purchase my digital products.

Large return on time invested


As I love a large return on my time invested, YouTube provides this for me. A video that I created for an online course three years ago is still generating students for that online course.

This is why I love YouTube. I make one video and for years it is working as my sales person 24 7: while I’m sleeping, while I’m practicing, while I’m working with my clients, while I’m teaching.

Violin videos that I have made years ago are still bringing me clients to this day. This is Why I Use Youtube as My Content Creation Hub.


Video captures YOU!


I love working with video because you get to know me as a person, my energy, my smile, my enthusiasm and you can understand if I am the right person for you to work with by the tone of my voice, by how I use my words. You know by my energetic vibration if we are a good fit or not.

With video, people get to know my teaching style, people get to know me as the business owner that I am and how I work online plus people get to know me with how I use mindset in my business and in my violin Journey.


Consistency is Key!


As I am on other social media platforms Facebook and Instagram, the place that I continuously show up week after week, two times a week in fact, is on YouTube.

Not to say that if I would show up even more on Instagram it wouldn’t be beneficial to my business but the reason I show up consistently on YouTube is that I know this video will be seen by people for years to come.

It’s not going to disappear after 24 hours or not be in somebody’s feed after 24 hours.


Youtube is a search engine


If somebody searched on a specific topic and the title of my video, my keywords match the solution that they’re searching for, then boom they get to see the video and it’s a perfect match.

Start with a video script


Now before I get into all the reasons why I use YouTube as a hub for my business, you may be thinking well that’s not such a bad idea and I would really like to make videos too.

There are a lot of different options for a Youtube video script of which you can easily find searching on Youtube. But what I have found the best is to keep it simple.

I’ve created a video script template to help you out. It’s one that I use personally to keep myself organized and know that every video I create has a purpose. You can get my video script template for free here!


Don’t underestimate the power of the video title


When you create your video script think about the solution that people are searching for and that you’re providing in the video so that you can use your title as a hook for them to see, “Hey you know what? This video has some answers for me. I’m going to check this out.”


Don’t create videos just to create videos


I’m not creating videos just to create videos. I want those videos to work for me whether it’s attracting emails, whether it’s collecting comments, whether it’s bringing somebody to my online course, whether it’s used to create more views on my YouTube channel, whatever it is, every single video I make has a purpose behind it.


Youtube as the hub SAVES TIME!


So let’s get into this. Why do I just love YouTube as my content creation hub? One it saves time. I make one video which I edit it in iMovie.

If you want tips, check out this post, “How to edit in iMovie.” At least how I use iMovie to edit.

Once I have edited the movie then I save that file for Facebook. Then I add the end screen and I save that for YouTube and then I create a shorter version that can be used on Pinterest and Instagram.

I also take the YouTube video and I embed it into my blog post. I use the subtitles from every YouTube video I make as the foundation for that blog post. So it saves a lot of time.

As you see, one video multiple platforms.


Youtube allows me to stay balanced


I choose not to work on my business 24/7. I do play the violin. I do have clients that I work with. I do teach violin. I play piano as well and I accompany so I have a lot of things on my plate that I want to make sure that I’m balanced.

Plus I swim every day and I’m on the treadmill for an hour. So I’m sure you can understand, it’s not that we have a blank slate of 24 hours to work on our business. We need to be balanced. Creating one video and using it for multiple platforms helps me to achieve this.


Youtube videos collect your fans and followers

How to Sell Profitable Digital Downloads Complete Step-by-Step Tutorial

You know you need to make digital downloads. You have maybe an idea but the path of exactly how to get that digital download in your customers’ hands can be a little difficult to understand. In this post discover, How to Sell Profitable Digital Downloads Complete Step-by Step-tutorial.

1. Profitable digital download idea


First, you need to have an idea. If you’re struggling with what idea to go for, download my Profitable Digital Download Idea Generating Journal and get those ideas flowing. Not only will you come up with one idea, I’m sure you’ll come up with multiple ideas that you can use in the future.


2. Make your profitable digital download


Once you have your idea, you need to create that profitable digital download. You need to make it. Need help? Check out my post that walks you through three different ways to build a digital download PDF via Google Drive, Canva, or Keynote.

Digital downloads can be PDFs or audio files. Whatever it is that you make you want to save it in a safe place on your computer so that you can access it when you need to upload it to the place your customers are going to buy it.


3. Make your profitable digital download visual


You have your digital product now safe on your computer. You’ll want to make this digital product as visual as possible for your customer to understand what it is. Just a link is not going to give them an idea of how this digital product is going to help them.

A great way to make your digital product come to life is to create images in Canva or in PicMonkey so people can see exactly what this digital product is going to look like when they buy it and you can give an idea of how they can use it, whether it’ll be on the iPhone or if they can use it on the computer.

You can easily grab images of the tablet or device that they’ll be using this digital product on and it also gives them the idea that yes this is a hundred percent immediately downloadable digital product that they can access on their device.


4. Create your sales/landing page for your digital download


Step four is to create the landing page or sales page where your customers are going to learn more about this digital product and why they absolutely need it. This sales page can be on your website or you can sell your product on a separate platform like Payhip.

I’m truly happy with the customer service and what Payhip has to offer. If you do use my Payhip link, I may or may not receive a commission at no cost to you and it helps to keep this website going.


5. Create a checkout process for your digital download


Once you’ve decided if it’s going to be on your website or on Payhip we need to have a checkout process and this is step five. If you’re using a platform like Payhip, this is all taken care of for you all you have to do with Payhip is go in and create a product upload.

  1. Upload your digital download to Payhip
  2. Upload your images that represent your digital download.
  3. Decide on a price and insert that information in the designated place in Payhip.
  4. Fill in the description box describing your product.

You want to have an incredible description that’s going to let your customers know exactly what they’re getting and how it’s going to help them. Answer the question why they absolutely need this specific digital download. How is your digital download going to make their life easier and absolutely immediately since it’s 100 percent immediately downloadable.

Payhip has the checkout page done. So once you have the product created in Payhip, somebody buys the product, a form pops up and they’re able to continue with the checkout.

Now if you are going to have this product housed on your website, you create the landing page on your website, you upload that beautiful image to make it more tangible, this digital product and then you’ll have a button below that says buy now and this is going to link to PayPal.

So you’ll have to create a button in PayPal and then you’ll get the link that you can put on your website. Now if you don’t want to use PayPal you can use Stripe as well and get that link and put it on your website it’s the same process and then when they click that link they’ll be guided through a checkout process.


6. Collect the funds from the sale of your digital download


Step six is collecting money so if you’ve chosen to go with Payhip you’ll have to connect Payhip to your PayPal account or and if you want to your Stripe account. Then when Payhip receives that money it will be transferred to either Payhip or Stripe account but they will take a fee. It depends on which plan you set up with Payhip. They do have a free plan with the way you don’t have to pay every month but they will take a percentage out of every sale. So until you’re making a specific amount of money in your sales you can use Payhip for free but just know that they will be taking a percentage out of every sale. Once you have more monthly sales you can investigate in Payhip’s plan how much it is a month and if that offsets having to have that fee taken out for every single sale. But when you’re first getting started, I would just suggest getting the free Payhip plan. Now on your website, you’ve used the link to PayPal or Stripe. If you choose not to use Payhip and then you’ll be collecting the money from from those accounts how you have it set up to transfer into your business checking account.


7. Deliver the digital download


Then step seven, the product needs to be delivered to your client. If you choose to use Payhip this is so seamless and it’s all taken care of. Payhip will send an email to your client and they’ll get that digital download and everything is set.

If you choose not to use Payhip and you just use your website and then you’ll have to have a redirect that’ll send that person to that specific link so they can access the digital download.

As you can see these two different options, Payhip does create this super seamless path.

If you wanted to not use the Payhip store but have the product directly on your website and still use the Payhip process. You can get a link once you’ve created your product in Payhip that you can copy and paste and sell that product on your website still via Payhip.


8. Market your digital download


As great as digital products are you need to market them. They’re not going to sell themselves. So you do have to plan on how you’re going to be funneling eyeballs to that specific landing page whether it’s on your website, whether it’s on Payhip, it doesn’t matter where it’s living but you do have to get people to see it.

Plan on sharing the link to this page on your social media accounts. Create a video of yourself using the product or of somebody else using the product and how it’s benefiting them so it becomes more lively to your customers and they see why they need this product.

Share it on your Instagram feed with a quick reel. If you have a Facebook group, you can easily share it in your Facebook group as well.

This is the eight-step process of creating a digital download so that you can start making money right away and build up that extra little cash bundle to help support yourself via your online biz.

How to Grow Your Online Business as a Multi-Passionate Entrepreneur Step by Step


Are you an online multi-passionate entrepreneur? Feeling called to expand your online biz to include new offerings products and services but you’re a bit confused on how to do so?

In this blog post, discover how to grow your online business as a multi-passionate entrepreneur step by step. I will discuss the exact steps on how to take you from where you are in your current online biz identity to where you want to be.


It is safe to expand and grow as an online multi-passionate entrepreneur


First, as an online multi-passionate entrepreneur, allow yourself to know and believe that it is safe to expand and grow. Don’t keep yourself holed up in a biz that’s actually holding your growth back. It’s time to put yourself in the spotlight and shine.


Gain clarity in the now


Get clear on the present moment in your biz.

Ask yourself the following questions:

  • What exactly are the products that I am offering?
  • How am I currently marketing these products?
  • Are potential clients being successfully funneled into these products and services?
  • Do I have a clear marketing strategy that works for my current offers?
  • Do I know my biz numbers?
  • Do I know where my strengths are in my current biz?

If any of the above is a little bit ambiguous and foggy, it’s time to break down your products and services into a really simple google sheets or excel file. In this spreadsheet, you can record each product and service that you’re offering and how you’re getting people to that product and service.


Declutter & organize your current biz


In order to bring in the new, we need to create the space.

Ask yourself how can you declutter your current business?

This decluttering process is super important to effortlessly create the space for the expansion and growth that you want to see in your business.

First step is to get your folders organized on your computer. Delete everything you no longer use or need in your current/old business. This way you can allow you and your biz to grow into your new identity.

Create a new folder with your biz name, mine is HK biz. Within that folder, create two more folders, one with your current/old biz and the other folder for your new biz.

How this looks like for me is I have my violin folder for my violin studio, violin clients, products and academies. In the second folder named high vibe biz and life, I have my client folders, current products and future offerings files.

Ask yourself this energetic question, what would it take for me to streamline my online biz to easily position myself for growth and expansion? Everything in the way of that completely delete, uncreate and destory.


Close out and/or bundle


As an online multi-passionate entrepreneur, you may have many offerings. It really brings a lot of clarity to start to think about how you can streamline your offerings. A great place to start is to understand what products are working and what are not. Close out any offerings that are draining your time and energy or find a way to turn them into passive income.

Think about how you can bundle offerings together so you’re not stretched thin by promoting multiple products. Take your online courses and bundle them into an academy or one bundle that way you just promote one item with a lot of bonuses or a lot of courses. This saves time only promoting one product as opposed to five different products.


Automation is freedom for online multi-passionate entrepreneurs


Automation is your path to freedom. Want more time? Automate!

Ask yourself, what can I automate?  What can you create as far as an evergreen funnel to allow people into your products and services?

An evergreen funnel is an easy path for your clients to get what they need from you and your offerings. These days people have so much to think about, so much to do, that if they get lost on the path to your products, they’re probably going to get distracted and not find their way back in.

Automation allows you the time to start to grow and expand to create the space for your new biz.


Nourish a success mindset


Many times entrepreneurs, especially creative entrepreneurs, hold themselves back because of a negative mindset. You may feel afraid.

“Well, what would happen if I let my people know that I actually am doing this” or “what if my fans won’t follow me anymore if they know that I’m offering this?”

Let’s clear this negative thinking and get you on the path to success.

As soon as the fear mindset starts ask yourself “what would it take for me to get clear on my current offerings?” “What would it take for me to know my numbers on a weekly, monthly basis?” “What would it take for me to position myself for growth and expansion?” Everything in the way of this completely delete, uncreate and destory.


Get clear on the new


Let’s get you clear on the new.

Get started by asking yourself:

  • What problems will I solve with my products?
  • What solutions will my services provide?
  • What questions will be answered with my online courses?

Why are you the expert?


How has your current business shaped you as an expert for this new aspect you want to offer? Perhaps the services that you have been giving for 20 years have actually given you the experience to help people on another level.

Then what I want you to think about is what is the common thread? Perhaps what you have been currently offering and where you want to go has a commonality.

As a multi-passionate entrepreneur, you most likely have different aspects that you want to bring to the table with your products services and offerings.

For example, as a violinist I have been teaching and performing for over 20 years the last 10 years has been online teaching adult violinists and 10 years of running a successful online business.

I have so much information to help creative entrepreneurs create an online biz that supports them and helps them thrive.

As you can see, someone may think okay, violinist, online biz, energetic spiritual healing, how does this all fit together?

Well, it fits together really beautifully for me to position myself to help creative entrepreneurs.

So that’s what I want you to think about in your life what are your passions and what is the common thread with all of your passions?

The common thread with my passions is vibration. Maintaining and increasing personal vibrational frequency.

Music is high vibe.

Vibration and playing music, being a high vibe violinist.

Using vibration to align to your higher self and helping others to align to their higher self.

Helping others create a high vibe online biz that creates a high-vibe life.

Energetic opening questions


Ask yourself:

  • What would it take for me to get clarity in my new offerings?
  • What would it take for me to allow myself the time to work in my new biz?
  • What would it take for me to know that every step in my new direction will have a positive effect on my overall business?

Even though we think about this as a new direction, it’s really expanding and growing where you currently are into where you want to be.


Start with what excites you as an online multi-passionate entrepreneur


Now that you’ve thought about your overarching umbrella, or your common thread within your multi-passions, brainstorm the topics that you are super excited to talk about.

Are any of those topics able to be blended topics with aspects of the old and new biz working together?

What would a blended topic look like for you.

A blended topic for myself as a violinist and online biz entrepreneur is the fact of how violinists can make money online blending the two topics violin and online biz.

Another example is as far as a chakra expert is the fact that I can help violinists with chakras. How do the chakras relate to violinists? How do chakras relate to online biz creative entrepreneurs?

Blended topics takes you where you are currently, where you want to be and come up with topics that actually touch on both of those areas. That way you’ll find that the fans that you have currently that have an interest into this new direction.


Be the conversation


Allow yourself to open up and show all the facets of your authentic self, allow the conversation to occur about your expansion growth and new topics.

This conversation will lead you to you what products and services that your tribe would love. You probably have an idea of what you want to offer but what is something that you can put together pretty quickly without spending a lot of time that your current fan base and growing fan base would be interested in. This sweet spot combination will be the products to create first.

That way when you create a relaunch party or expansion party into your new identity, you have these offerings that you can present to them.

How to Easily Monetize Yourself Online as a Creative Entrepreneur with Little or No Investment


Are you in a position where you know you need to start making money online but you feel absolutely overwhelmed and have no idea where to start? In this post discover how to easily monetize yourself online as a creative entrepreneur with little or no investment.

Monetize yourself online biz name


You are your online business. In order to get monetized quickly with little or no investment is to start where you are right now. A great place to start is the name of your business. Since you are your biz, I would suggest using your name as your biz name. My name is Heather Kaye. That’s my business. My business is me. I am Heather Kaye.

So what is your name? You can head on over to Godaddy or at hover.com to find out if your name is available.

Name not available? Don’t fret. Add one or two words that help people know what exactly is your business.

When I started working online in 2012, I created the website Online Violin Education. My name was not in the domain name nor on the home page. People didn’t know who I was and I was completely removed from the branding of my biz.

As a complete newbie to the online world, I listened to the advice of an online guru for my domain name and over the years I realized that was quite the mistake.

Now I have my violin studio website at Heather Kaye violin. My name Heather Kaye was not available so I just tagged on one word, violin. That is my studio website.

If you’re an artist and want to start selling your art online, take your name Mary Jane Art that could work if Mary Jane is not available. Or whatever your specialty is. So that’s your step number one, is just to get your name as your business name.


Monetize yourself online by starting where you are now


Here are a few questions for you to ponder when thinking how to monetize yourself online. What are your skills? What can you teach online? What can you coach other people to do online? What problems do you solve?

For example, if you are a musician, you can teach music or how to play an instrument online. If you’re an artist, you can teach art online.


Monetize your passions


Monetizing yourself online does take time and conversation. What are you so passionate about that you can easily talk for hours and enjoy the conversation?

Enjoyment is key….You may have the info in your head to talk for hours on many topics but it is important to choose one that inspires you.

When you are lit up talking about this topic, your listeners will also feel that energy.  They will effortlessly turn into your clients because they become addicted to feeling that same joy you have inside with that specific passion of yours.


Inspiring questions to monetize yourself online


  • How can you help people?
  • How are you currently helping people?
  • Do you have an offline practice, an in-person practice that you can easily transition to online?
  • What problems do you solve?
  • What solutions do you provide?

Perhaps you are really good at time management. You can become a time coach online. You can help people organize their time, especially in these days. There’s a lot of busy moms having to add to their schedule by homeschooling their children so perhaps you can help out busy moms. Maybe you’re good at organization. You’re a spiritual healer, an energetic healer, you can help people heal online.


What services can you provide? How can you help?


What we’re creating here is a service-based business.

When you’re working with people one to one, that is a service-based business, you’re providing a service.

Think about what your skills are. Think about what people are needing. What can you offer as a service-based provider?


More than one client at a time


Now as a service-based provider, you can expand your horizons by not just providing one-on-one sessions, you can also provide group workshops or group sessions. This is great because then you can touch more people’s lives than just one in an hour.

Think about how you can create a workshop for five to one hundred people and touch their lives at one time. This is also great for you to not get so drained as well.

Instead of saying the same thing over and over and over again to each person separately, you can just say it once to everybody at one time.

Think about how you can create group workshops in your service-based business.


Putting yourself out there – Be visible


Next step is marketing letting people know what you’re providing. If you have an in-person business, pretty easy, just tell your current clients, “Hey, I am creating an online practice.”

Start moving your in-person sessions online.

Perhaps your current clients have friends or family that they know who do not live in the physical location of where you are located that they can refer to you.

If your current clients are happy and getting really good results with you, they would love to refer friends and family to work with you online.


How to market yourself online


You can market online with or without a website.

With a website make sure you create one page with your service-based offerings then simply direct people to that page.

If you don’t have a website, you can create one very easily. Just a one-page website on wix. You can create a landing page.

No website? No worries.

You can easily create a Facebook page and not even have a website. A Facebook page is completely free. Just so you have a place where you can direct people to.


Be the helper


You can easily spread the word within social media by being the helper. Get involved in Facebook groups. When people are searching for an answer that you can provide, help them and then let them know if they need further assistance they can find out more about what you have to offer by sending them to your one-page website or to your Facebook business page.


Receiving payments


There are plenty of options to have your clients pay you.

You can use your Paypalme link or Zelle for US based direct bank transfers.

You don’t even need a website or an online shop to receive money from your services.


Staying in touch with your peeps


As you’re starting to become popular, you’re going to be collecting your tribe or fan base. You need to have a way to be able to contact them. The best way to do that is through collecting emails in order for you to send out newsletters and keep in touch with your people.

There are so many different platforms out there that you can use; aweber, Mailerlite, Mailchimp.

You can easily search and find which one is best for you and some of them offer their services for free up to perhaps 1500 subscribers.

I have literally tried all of the above email marketing platforms and currently am using Mailerlite. For me Mailerlite is by far the best in price and ease of use. If you choose to use Mailerlite click here and I may receive a commission from them.


Create a digital product


The next easiest step to make money online is creating a digital product.

Think about what can you create as a digital product?

Here are some examples; checklists, workbooks, ebooks, prints.

Digital products are super popular right now because there’s no shipping and no cost for shipping.

They’re 100% immediately downloadable.

People don’t have to get in the car with a mask and go shopping in a store with other people and it’s a fast and safe and people have their product, right?

The first digital products I ever created are violin exercise books. I’ve written over 20 different violin exercise books and people can purchase these books at heatherkayeviolin.com/bookshop or at my online store on payhip.

What can you create as a digital product? What checklist can be really helpful for people?

Ideally, you want this digital product to have some sort of connection to your service based offerings.

At my violin studio, I teach people violin and so I created exercise books for my violin studio.

No website? No worries. Sell your digital products on Facebook, Payhip, and/or Etsy.

I personally love and use Payhip.

Etsy! Just send people to your Etsy store and you can sell digital products there.


Create a digital product


Finally another way you can monetize yourself and your knowledge, is by creating an online course.

Again you want this course to be aligned with your passions.

How can you help people? What course can you create?

You can house these courses on your website, if you have a website by simply using a membership plugin or if you want you don’t even have to have a website.

You can have your courses be housed in Thinkific or Teachable, it’s completely up to you.

How to Make a Vision Board that Works for Your Online Biz

Not happy with your online business? Do you feel like you should be a little bit further along than where you are? Perhaps you’re feeling completely drained and burned out. In this post, we are going to talk about how to make a vision board that works for your online biz helping you get your business more aligned to your desired lifestyle.

Hi, I’m Heather Kaye high vibe biz and life coach where I help creative entrepreneurs empaths and lightworkers create a biz and life they love. In this post, I’m going to give you the exact four-step process that I use to create a vision board that works for my online biz.


In the first half of this post, I’m going to be asking you questions that you will want to journal out and then the second half of the post, I’m going to show you how to take those answers and create a vision board that will align your online business to your desired lifestyle.


Have your biz work for you


I’ve had my violin biz online for 10 years. I would be lying if I were to tell you that I’ve never been drained or burnt out. What I have found is how to have the online business work for me instead of me working for it. That’s what we’re going to talk about in this video, on how you can get deep with some questions and turn those answers and desires into a vision board so you can daily see what you are aligning to in your online business.


Time to journal


In order to create an online biz vision board that works, you need to get deep with some questions.

Time to get your journal or a google doc so you can write these questions down and your answers. Plan to set aside about 30 minutes and be able to go through this process with a candle and some beautiful music so you feel at peace as you’re journaling this out.

The journaling process of creating this vision board is very important because that’s what’s going to allow you to get deep and know what you really want to attract in.


Online Biz Vision Board Tip 1: Get clear on how you want to feel


Step one, you want to get clear on how you want to feel in your biz. Think about words that resonate with how you want to feel in your biz.

If the words drained and burnt out come to your mind right now then you’d want to think about the positive or the opposite end of that spectrum where you feel full of energy and you feel full of light as you work with your online biz.

Some inspiring words you may want to feel in your own online biz:

  • Happy
  • Energized
  • Buoyant
  • Can’t wait to work with your clients

If you’re not feeling those things, then maybe it’s time to think about what you can change to feel those things.


Online Biz Vision Board Tip 2: What does done look like?


What does done look like for you? Journal on the idea of done.

What projects will be finished?

How will your website look?

What will be decluttered?

What can you tie up in a bow with automated marketing?

What can you outsource?


Online Biz Vision Board Tip 3: Use energetic statements


The next step is to create energetic statements that align us to those end results.

What would it take for me to feel energized, balanced, organized and satisfied with my violin biz online?

I’m using my violin biz online as an example and you can use whatever business you want to use.


Balanced give/receive ratio


I find that many entrepreneurs, many females that I work with, their giving is really out of whack in compared to receiving. Allow yourself to receive.

This is really something excellent to align to.

What would it take to have the give/receive ratio be balanced?


Online Biz Vision Board Tip 4: Get clear on how you serve


Step two, you want to get clear on how you serve in your online biz and how your online business serves you.

For example, do you want your online biz to have one-to-one clients

or

do you want your online business to have more of one-to-many, sell products, sell courses?


Online Biz Vision Board Tip 5: Get clear on your desired lifestyle


Think about your lifestyle and ask yourself what is my desired lifestyle? How many hours do I really want to put into this biz and then align your business model with what you want to have in your life.

Perhaps you want to only work six hours a week with clients in one to ones or one to manys and that means that you would benefit from creating courses and online products to help bring in some passive income.


Online Biz Vision Board Tip 6: Get specific


Whatever it is that you are choosing, I want you to even go deeper and think okay, one to ones, how many one to ones?

One too many, how many one to many’s in a week?

Digital products – Know your number now and know where you want to go.

You also want to know how many people you would need to help you get to where you want to go. So if you want to double your book sales, how many more sales would you have to have in order to double your book sales?

What would it take for me to double my book sales?

Insert the specific number.

It’s really good to know your specific number so that you know what your exact number is that you’re aligning to.

Maybe you desire to create an online membership. Your energetic statement would be, “What would it take for me to create a fun membership that supports me and my clients.”

You want to find that really nice sweet spot that works for you and also for your clients.


Where are my peeps?


When you break it down and you know how many people that you would need to attract in to get you where you want to be, think about where are they hanging out.

What do they think like? How do you need to present yourself to attract these people that you want to have as your clients.

You want to be the flower and have them come to you.


Get organized


Step 3, get organized. We want clients to come into your website or what you see what you have to offer and just easily be funneled to where they need to go.

What does organized look like to you?

Think about the clients that you currently have and your fans (your future clients.)

How can you organize them in such a way that you are feeding them the information that really serves where they are at right now and a little bit in the future so they can work towards improving?

Create freebies that are going to actually funnel into products that would be beneficial to that person. So if that person is interested in a certain product make sure it’s funneling into a course that they may be interested in.


Multi-leveled touch points


Perhaps your touchpoints are multi-leveled. For example, my violin business has things for beginners, for intermediate and advanced. A great way to get to know your fans and followers is to create a quiz that is designed to know your client’s entry point allowing them to be guided through that path of what they specifically need.

If you don’t divide them up and you’re sending out newsletters or information of more advanced techniques or products for somebody that’s not quite ready for that information, you’re probably going to lose that subscriber and vice versa.


Create a placement/evaluation quiz


An evaluation quiz or a placement quiz helps you can sort out your fans and followers and get them funneled into what would serve them the best and supports them with what they need.


Know your happy end result


Step four, know your happy end results. Ask yourself what is your happy end result in your biz and journal that. Maybe a happy end result is a specific number every year. Maybe your happy end result is actually having more time for you and working less for the same money. So just kind of think about what your happy end result is so you can align specifically to that and create energetic statements that work for that.

Examples:

What would it take for me to have my marketing automated? Everything in the way that completely delete, uncreate and destory.


Canva time


Once you have this and your energetic statements you’re ready to take it to Canva. Be sure to check out my post how to create a vision board online in 15 minutes for more deets.

Collect images that evoke feelings for you. So one way you can do it is actually while you are in Canva, just go to photos and search.

If you want your calendar full, bring in some images of a full calendar.

You can take a screenshot of your google calendar with some names of people for to see that you have a booked calendar and then what we want to do is add in these energetic statements.

Make sure that you can see your energetic statements clearly so that when you print your vision board up, you’ll be able to read very easily.

Once you have created your vision board, save it as a png because then that way you can put it on your phone and/or you can easily print it up.


Visualization


Once completed it is time to visualize and in order to do that you want to print up your vision board and put it somewhere where you’re going to see it on a regular basis.

Perhaps you exercise at home, put it somewhere where you can see it the entire time while you’re exercising and meditate on your energetic statements.

Allow yourself to be silent and have the answers start to pop in your mind and you’ll find that by using the vision board in this way combined with energetic statements, you’re really going to get closer and closer to your happy end result.
